For your draft problem...do you have a rain cap installed? Is it designed properly? For instance, I have a 4" pipe system. I took a 6" cap (clean out cap that goes on a T usually) and a 10" piece of 8" pipe. I twisted the 8" pipe so it was small at the top and bigger at the bottom. Then put the small end inside the 6" cap and screwed it. So the top is 6" and it fans out to about 9" at the bottom. Then I made 2 brackets from duct strap material. I put the bottom of the finished rain cap 2" below the end of my stove pipe so no wind can obstruct the "flow." After I did that the thing runs like a champ. I'm in my boxers right now in a glorified tent and it's 45°F outside. I made my air intake 3 3/4" × 4" and my riser I made it 6" rather than 4" because I felt it would pull better. I guess I was right because it pulls hard and works like a champ. I have a 7 gallon steel paint bucket as my barrel/cook top. I made a cover for the feed tube so I could make it bigger than just 4" ya know. Here's a link-
