Biography
Hi fellow Permies,
I'm a Canadian woman, living in Michigan USA since 2015. Homesteading on 40 acres of rolling hills with hay fields, oak, hickory, cherry locust and walnut trees. Caring for a small orchard of apple, pear, plum, peaches and cherries. I'm so thankful for the abundance of wild mulberries, blackberries and cherries. I'm working at growing and preserving enough veggies, herbs and fruit to not need the grocery store. I raise meat rabbits and chickens for eggs. I love flowers, beauty and gardening. Taking care of animals come naturally for me and put alot of effort in to giving them a good quality of life. It's important to me where my food comes from and i support local as much as i can. I walk the trails every day with my dog and feel comfortable and connected outdoors and with nature. I enjoy alone time and I'm an introvert but I'd also love to find a partner that also love this lifestyle. I'd love to build a strawbale house or earth sheltered greenhouse. I'm unvaxxed, use herbs and natural remedies as much as possible. I do not follow any religion, though I am a spiritual person and prayer is a daily part of my life. Kindness,.compassion and curiosity are important to me. ☮️

I too am grateful for the one I know will find me one day. I can feel him, even though he may be miles away, getting closer and closer.

Curious what others think about using cardboard and the possiblle contamination of soil. I've read a couple articles about high levels of pfas in recycled cardboard and paper products. Now i am concerned i have contaminated the gardens with forever chemicals. I've used this method a number of times on this property for new flower gardens and last year made a veggie 50 x 50 ft garden on a hay field this way.
It works amazing to build a new garden quickly but now I'm wondering if I should use different method.
Curious on other thoughts about this issue. ☮️
Hi John,

I thought I'd share a bit from my perspective.
I have had a number of head injuries and have found that concussion and post concussion symptoms can cause this. After one I had i experience hyperacusis. Sensitivity to sounds and this made day to life very hard to process. During this time my brain also processed some sounds as a voice or animal sound a d also would repeat sounds long after they were gone. Apparently the brain can do this when in sensory overload and also not getting sleep for multiple days in a row can also cause this.
Has the person you mentioned by chance had a head injury?
I also believe we have guides and beings that are around us and can communicate us when we are open to it. Are the voices this person is experiencing paranoid or alarming?
Just the other day, while making bread in the kitchen, I heard a voice yell Hey!! In a tone to get my attention, like something was up.  I looked around for who said that, started looking out the windows and found my favourite hen on the wrong side of the fence and my puppy heading her way, with I'm sure mischief in mind. I was able to stop disaster and am convinced if I hadn't heard that Hey, she would have been dog food.
Some voices are helpful.
Some definitely are not. But they usually are there for an important reason

In my hoophouse I find if I have an obscene number  of nasturtium plants carpeting the ground under my veggies, the aphids will go to the nasturiums first. The nasturiums seem to be able to handle a very heavy load of aphids. It doesn't solve the problem but  it does save my tomato and pepper plants. The nasturtiums will self seed in Michigan zone 6 in my hoophouse
