You are not missing anything! I started thinking about it after I saw and experienced how easy it was to remove one sidewall. This would make it easier to pack and to hold the wall upright, a fence tubing can be inserted where the two tire intersect. I have tried packing whole tires to the very top. That was a senseless waste of time and effort.
