Biography
I’m a life long gardener…just finished my third year of a large 120’x80’ garden here outside of Asheville NC. I work toward being more food self-sustaining. I learned so much these first three years. Some things didn’t grow at all, some grew part of the season, some were prolific. I successfully grew potatoes & sweet potatoes this year! I learned about the insect pests here, the fungi that created problems for some plants, learned better ways to manage weeds, to irrigate. This year I focused on canning apples from our 5 old organic trees as well as the wild blackberries & elderberries I harvested! Chose to freeze pumpkin pulp.
I also made a large hugelcultur berm!
Next year I’m going to learn composting, vermicomposting, compost tea making and I going to bake bread again!

I keep getting girl-bot invitations to do a scavenger hunt and have NO IDEA whatsoever how or why to do this!

Gauri, some of the scavenger hunt is done w/o you even realizing it.  Each time you post, each time you give a like or receive one.  They add up and count towards the levels of the hunts.  You can find it when you click on your account pic and it's on the left side.  You may have to click a little icon to drop it down.

I'm having a blast now that I know.  Enjoy!!  --Tess

Thank you….but…..I STILL don’t get it! I went to opening page. Looked at all the left side icons and don’t find anything that makes sense to me about a scavenger hunt! Grrrrrrr
Congratulations! 🎈

I pick a tea pot depending on what I’m preparing. This one is sturdy!

I’ve had this glass teapot since I was in my teens. It’s particularly precious because my Mom gave it to me. I just love all things glass!

I also make sure to pry out squash borer grubs & remove all borer eggs on squash vines before chopping-dropping.
Very helpful remedies & strategies to help with pain.
I, too, have sharp shoulder pain that mostly comes from sleeping on my right side. I use an excellent salve my neighbor makes w comfrey & arnica. I try sleeping in other positions. Gentle massage. Will try the roll under my arm & see if that helps. But what’s most helpful is really tuning into the body and finding the movement that triggers the pain. Body/movement awareness is key in helping these injuries.

I keep getting invited to do a scavenger hunt and I have NO idea what that even means? How to do it? What I’m supposed to be looking for? Help? What is this hunt?
Leisurely infrastructure work on the garden…resetting up the pathways with wood chips, pruning trees & bushes, setting leaves & mulch, just “being” with my gardens so new spring plans can generate.
And indoors, sipping lots of tea while catching up on reading. Looking through seed catalogues.
Lots of baking! Bread. Muffins. Cookies.
