While visiting my parents on Saturday, my mom came up from the basement said that there’s a puddle of water by the furnace so I went down to check it out. And elbow on the return line for their hot water baseboard heat was leaking. Fortunately, a few months before we had pulled a similar furnace out of my brother’s cabin and stored in the barn, so I was able to pull some parts off of it to fix the proble. After I had it fixed, had the water pumped back in, and the lines bled I turned on the valve to the main supply line and it snapped off. There was a shark bite on that line close by so I was able to pull enough slack to get it hooked up without the valve since I didn’t have a part.  (Replacing that valve two days later I put under another BB.)
After running the pumps, water stars spraying out of a half inch copper pipe so I scoured the barn and outdoor sheds looking for anything I can use to fix it. Fortunately, I found a half inch shark bite and installed that temporarily.  It was 1 AM Sunday morning when I got the heat back on.
Always have tools and parts on hand, cause you never know when you’re gonna be fixing things in the middle of the night when nothing is opened to buy parts.

Saturday evening I was at my parents and their heat system sprung a leak.  I shut off the water supply and fixed the leak.  When I turned the water back on the valve snapped off.   I did a temporary fix since it was 11 o’clock at night and installed the new PEX valve on Monday.

I had a job, remove a deck and put a Flagstone patio in the same spot.  The deck was removed.  Many tons of gravel was added.  The patio was being built.  Then the customer said “my sump pump never really worked and I want the sump pump drain line to be rerouted to the downspouts drainage”.
I found the sump pump drain line and realized it ran uphill from the house.  It took me two hours of digging through gravel WE ADDED to uncover the old line and trench to the downspout drain line.
I billed for 6 hours of plumbing work.
1 hour to get parts
2 hours of digging
3 hours of pipe work. Hooking up downspouts, and fixing and rerouting the sump pump drain line.
