I"d like to comment on an increasing population creating an increasing consumption. This is where politicians could have been of use to us. (But of course they never choose to do something to be of use to us.) If politicians based tax on consumption rather than on income, well then guess what would happen. Less consumption, of course, because most people do not have unlimited funds.
