Yeah I think so. It ended up getting quite a bit taller than this pic. The biggest plants were about 11 feet tall, and one had two big red ears.
Hey Christopher, any luck yet? I have found some mentions of using a Country Living for masa, but I have not tried it yet. I am curious to know of your results. Are you growing your own flour corns, or purchasing from masienda? Edit: I looked at the date more closely, and you only recently ordered it. Looking forward to hearing your results!
This year I grew some flint corn. The variety was Cascade Ruby Gold. I did about a 4 ft x 10ft bed of it, and the net yield was about 8.4 lb of dry corn. This is plenty productive! It equates to about 160 bu/acre. But yield wasn’t the goalpost. It was fundamentally exciting to know that I can grow flint corn in Canada. Made scrumptious polenta. Next up is johnnycakes.
