How do you get scorched food off the bottom of a pan?

I have been soaking and scrubbing for several days without much results.

Try simmering a mix of water and baking soda (or vinegar) in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then let it cool and scrape with a wooden or plastic spatula. Bar Keepers Friend or a paste of baking soda and dish soap can also help lift stubborn residue.

Shayna Rose wrote:Hello there,
Im currently traveling the States/ Central and S. Am looking for tribe and a like-minded partner. For the last 7 years I was living in the PNW, built a cabin (on skids) and have dedicated my life to learning primitive and ancestral skills. Im really into homesteading, animal processing, canning, making medicines, crafting beautiful and useful things. I love geeking out on personal growth and working towards financial independence. I love singing and playing music, baking and cooking organic healthy meals. Im not vaccinated and was not immunized as a child. I was homeschooled. I grew up in San Diego. I lived in Europe for 10 years as a street musician and Waldorf Teacher. I can milk goats/ cows, make cheese, live off grid no problem.

I work remotely for a holistic nutrition practice. Im looking to start a family. I have a masters in Waldorf Education and speak fluent German. Im looking forward to raising my kids bi-lingual. Im Christian/ Spiritual.

Looking for someone with family values, dedication and loyalty, honest, hardworking, financially stable, good physique, sexy, tall, at least taller than me (5'3") lol. Age 28 -45 or at least that you look it! It would be great if you had a homestead or the means to co-create one together. Its likely that you dont have children already but would entertain the idea of someone who's kids were almost grown or if you had 100% custody. I would never want to take a man away from his children and responsibility to the mother of those children. I love beards and viking masculine bear of a man that makes me feel safe and protected.

Im also totally looking for rad plutonic girlfriends to do life with. If I dont find Mr. Right, lets just create community and tribe together.

You’ve built a solid foundation and have a lot to offer, both in skills and in mindset. The mix of practical knowledge, creative passions, and spiritual values is rare and refreshing. Hope you connect with others on a similar path whether that’s a partner or a group to build something meaningful with.

May Lotito wrote:I converted a truck bed liner into my lotus growing tub and put some duckweed in it too. Somehow there was a brown algae boom weeks ago and now the duckweed roots are embedded into the dead algae mass. I scooped some out for the chickens but they wouldn't eat it.

How do you grow your duckweed and manage algae? Does the dead algae produce toxin harmful to the chicken?

To grow duckweed effectively, use still, nutrient-rich water with partial sunlight and avoid excess nutrients that fuel algae. Algae blooms can be controlled by adding light shade or using a small aerator. In your case, the duckweed is likely embedded in decomposing algae, which can produce toxins and make it unappealing or unsafe for chickens. Remove the dead algae, rinse the duckweed, and consider restarting with a clean culture in fresh water for better results.
