get some apple wood or pear wood cuttings in with your rabbits they love to scratch on them to trim their own nails .

He is a hunter and any leftover butchery waste/carcass is thrown out to the chickens. They pick it over thoroughly leaving just bones to deal with. In our climate, the main deer hunting season is already cold so no worrying about attracting bugs or lingering smells.

one of my neighbors growing up raised fighting chickens fed them meat egg and cooked it in winter he would make Mash .

if i wrote all i  learned from people who fought in ww2 and my great grandmothers who lived to be over 100 died when i was 16 it be a book. and alot of time . im glad this list is here so i can add  to whats said and learn too.

WOW , I  just read threw all your great posts but there is alot still missing.

like growing food for them in their yard cut it in half like ya would a cow grow comfrey and amarenth in both areas along with oregano , basil and parsley. sunflowers i feed them bananas as a treat

oregano is great to keep mites lice and worms away from your birds you can grow clover and other things when one area is low put them in the other .

of cource you can still feed them and throw scraps to them but i buy mealy worms and grow them as well . beets i grow in the yard for my chickens i get the best eggs with really rich yolks and flavor and healthy hens.

herbs are your friend if you want even some ginger in their as well as acv in the water 2 times a month i have hens i bought in 2017 i keep to hatch eggs for me . roosters get a trip to freezer camp . i raise brahmas austrolorp and red rangers . and i spend about 15 a month in summer for feed of 30 birds . winter i can grow some of what i have but not all .

when i bought this house in 1999  my mother tried to get me to change the insert for a pellet stove . i told her no because pellet stoves take electric and i could always get wood . glad i did i had all 6 of my siblings and my parents here to be warm when they lost electric a few times . i also like to cook on it i have stainless steal as well as cast iron pots and pans . i use the stainless steal ones for rice and stuff like that but if i want a good strew its cast iron .

i just boiled some eggs on it because both my oven and stove top burned out both new made in china breaks my heart how things no longer last i also have an old 100 yr Plus leahy incubator and it still works has attach ment for a small stove or use electric .

have a great day all im still learning this site .
