are you still looking for placement in Mexico. We are in the Yucatan and have a large, diverse organic farm and eco lodge. We could use some help in exchange for great lodging, food, pool, internet...
I just made a talc by blending oatmeal, baking soda, rosemary and dried neem in my vitamix. We sprinkled it on the dog, rubbed it in and the fleas couldn't get away fast enough. Oatmeal and baking soda absorbs greasy dirt and odor. Rosemary is a natural flea repellent and neem is not only good for the skin but also repels mange mites and lice.

I'm really sorry you feel rejected. We had nothing to do with the Elk's Club case. I agree with you: the Elk's Club has a right to restrict its membership to men only, just as women have the right to a closed forum if they like. Thank you for bringing this up.

I will call him tomorrow and see where he is at with it. I downloaded information and plans, he has some of his own ideas for improvement. I heard someone had done the same with a blender but not sure I can pedal as fast as my Vitamix. I think I will see how the grinder works out first!  Thanks for your interest. I will have to learn how to download photos here so I can share the design. This will be great for the local ladies who work so hard grinding corn for tortillas. They have gone from the stone metates to the hand grinder...and lots of old bikes laying around.

Hi Jeffery,
I caught your post on the permie site and just wondered where your farm is. Ive been working to establish an organic farm north of Valladolid.  I take it you dont live in the area, but just wondering if you have plans to set something up down here.

Has anyone made or seen an adobe floor? I have a nice deposit of clay and I have made and used adobe block for various projects. I've been trying to work out the best mix proportions with the mason, but I was hoping someone here might have had direct experience with one.

Hi Mae, My name is Lee. Good information about petite tools.  Most of us are not built for heavy lifting and manual labor. I am having a local welder make a bicycle grinder, for example. Hand grinders just use too much of my energy. Leverage, ladies!
Nice to meet you Mae. I would be happy to include you in whatever blog or group we end up with. I am new to this site and have been really feeling the need to find a community of like-minded people. I feel like a kid in a candy store.

YES! You are so right about the name. I dont even need to google it. The group was going to by by invitation only so I guess we saw it as an inside joke. We will think that through a bit more.

I'd have lunch with anyone who wanted to drive 7 days to get here. I might even buy (lol).  Yes, help around the farm...I just posted a request for someone wanting to do a work trade. Food and accommodations in paradise for help . A good opportunity to exchange ideas. I used to have wwoofers coming down but it is so hit and miss. Most North Americans aren't used to manual labour...or the whole concept of barter.
