Save up and get the right pipe, a cheaper alternative could keel you!

Scott Kellogg, who spoke to our PDC class has an amazing book which has an example of a rocket stove insulated with wood ash. Very well written and covers a lot which most other books fail to include. Probably our favorite book so far... but yea, insulation!

I'll give that a shot. I've read quite a bit that it's tough getting anything to stick to these liners, i'll try it out and let everyone know how it works out. Thanks Dale!

Well I was digging around for a repair method/replacement for one of those black preformed plastic pond liners and I stumbled upon this website: http://www.billboardtarps.com. They offer used billboard tarps at what seems like a decent price. So a couple questions... Has anyone had experience fixing such a crack? Also, would the above tarp be too "risky" to use in an edible aquaculture system? If not, maybe someone envisions another use for them. Thanks in advance! I attached a picture of the crack, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome, well written, and a joy to read.  I know I'd love to maybe see some pictures if possible?  It's a shame about the motorcycle bandits!  Birds are such fun to watch and even learn from, you must be pumped.  I think I might try out asmaller scale version of those holes, sounds interesting.  Can't wait to see how you make out, best of luck.

Edit... also, any website or online resource on your farm?  Didn't see one in your profile.

We love your videos!  We really look forward to the new ones.  They're full of great, informative content.  You also bring a certain comedic value to them, which is awesome.  We find ourselves laughing a lot, thank you for that!  Keep em coming, for sure!

Michael pilarski is an animal by the way, seems so pumped hacking his way through there... there's such a true passion we see in everyone doing the perma thing, its quite moving and motivating.

I wanted to have a little fun showing a contrast of then and now. How things looked shortly after planting and initial setup for an apple tree guild in our backyard that is working towards a food forest. I hope you enjoy rofl.

That's a great video!  But nothing can top Bill Mollison's permaculture rap!

I use them for tomatoes, it allows for a longer taproot. Im experimenting right now without soil by using shredded paper from a shredder machine stuffed inside the paper tubes. So far I have good germination, Im going to see how far they will go.

I'd love to see the progress with the shredded paper!

It just makes me cringe...  we can only hope that the masses realize the importance of seeds one day.  Its just unimaginable at this point to think about that happening.  We can only change ourselves, spread the word, and hope for the future!
