Zoomoolians!

I will be presenting at the Inland Northwest Permaculture Convergence in Spokane on November 4, 5 and 6.  And, of course, there will be a whole bunch of other permaculture presentations going on too.

If you get a ticket before October 15, it looks like they are just $60. 

I'll be giving three presentations (each of which I will record for a podcast):

   Rocket Mass Heaters
   Wofati Eco Buildings
   Replacing Irrigation with Permaculture

I'm looking through the list of presenters/presentations and I can already see lots of stuff I wanna catch.  I hope I'm not scheduled at the same time.  Some of the presenters are people in my videos!

And, of course, between presentations, in the mornings and evenings, we'll all get to hang out.  And remind people how Missoula is more awesome than the rest of the PNW!

you know this sounds like the neatest thing of the year. Maybe I dont get out much, but I bet if I did, it would still be pretty neat.

I would like to carpool! I am coming from Butte MT. I've worked out a work-trade for admission costs, and room and board, and want to find a cheaper way of getting there. I'm tabling at the Trade-Show so I'll  have two bulky containers for displays (I'm an Americorps member working at NCAT in Butte).
I can drive up to Missoula to meet people.
I can fit one other person comfortably in my truck, and 3 more uncomfortably. Paul, you mentioned something about a van?

Kelly Ware is going and she has a van.  Does going over on thursday and coming back on monday (after the keyline stuff) sound okay to you?

I can go Thursday nightleaving Missoula at about 5:30ish.  Does that work?  So far there are three confirmed with Paul. Krista? Caleb? Derik?

Do ya'll have room for 1 more?  I can definitely chip in to help with gas.  Been on the fence about whether to go, but I want to learn all I can about permaculture, so this seems like too good an opportunity to miss.

I think we'll get everybody to fit - even if we end up taking more than one rig.

I like the idea of getting there, getting settled and then mosying over to the events of the evening.  So if we left here at 3:30, we would get there at a 6:30 which is 5:30 their time.  I suspect that we will then have the challenge of trying to track down people that will take our money and let us in and whatnot.  And then stuff starts at 6:30.

Can I officially commit to riding over with you guys? I'd like to leave a little earlier on Monday too, and of course I can chip in on gas money.

I can be flexible, but it sounds like we'd leave after the workshop Monday and that's what I wanted anywho.

I went ahead and signed up for advance registration...  If someone with an extra car seat wants to name a place and time to meet next Thursday, I'll be there.

(If there's a dire seat shortage, I could potentially drive my van, but it only has one passenger seat and no backseats, no power steering and a broken windshield wiper motor, so it's a bit risky for a road trip right now; I'd rather use it only as a last resort at this point.)

At some point, I need to pop out and see my brother's new property, about 45 minutes from the event.  He will be there friday eve to sunday afternoon.  So part of me is hoping that we will get enough people that we will want to take two rigs and then I'll bring my rig (which will hold four people, while Kelly's will hold more than four).

Instead of taking the van, I could drive my little truck. It'll fit myself, one other person very comfortably, and another less comfortably. I can't afford staying in the dorms so I'll probably camp, or see if I can swing a homestay. The only thing is I'd like to have a vehicle as neither place is walking distance to the conference, and if I camp, it'd be nice to have the option of sleeping in my truck (I've got a wee camper).
It's small, and actually gets pretty good gas mileage.

Don't know if you've heard but there is free camping available at the PEACH farm for the conference.  You may contact lodging@inlandnorthwestpermaculture.com to inquire or reserve a spot.

I am aware of the free camping. The forecast calls for some rain though, so I thought having my truck would be a nice safety net!

And it sounds like Camille wants to be sure to take her truck so she will have a place to stay. 

So that means we are taking two rigs. 

I like the idea of bringing my rig, because of my side trip to see my brother.

Next, let's meet at the good food store, on the easternmost edge of the parking lot at 3:25pm thursday.
