captcha to see a website?

Is this a real thing?  Having to complete a captcha just to SEE a website?

(ps, does anyone else have trouble proving they are human with captcha?)

It also suggests I should download an extension to prove I don't have malware.  It seems to me that downloading unknown extensions is probably the fastest way to pick up malware.  

One should be happy as long as they do not want ones DNA to just enter the internet.

Ahh I see now...   If your name starts with an "R" you must be checked out...
But if your name starts with a "T" your okey dokey OK...  hmm makes sense to me :)

Both successes are in the U.S. The Captcha requests are outside the U.S. Think that's relevant? Anyone have a way to check? Maybe a VPN?

Yes im from outside the U.S and I got Captcha'd too. Wasn't offered any malware though.

I've never been to a site that had a yellow triangle warning before.

Sure seemed to be.   I cruised a few pages with no problems.  My internet protection did not have any issues with it.
Call their phone number , they may have a catalog they can send you.

Looks ok to me. If think they make the bizzare assumption that if your from outside the U.S you must be trying to bring down thier website via a DDOS attack. Persumably because selling silkworms must be of strategic national importance to the U.S government

It does make it very difficult to buy stuff from them if their security keeps kicking me out of their site before I can complete the order.

That's very strange.  A webmaster can block IP and IP ranges based on spam tracking sites.  Blocking a whole country on the bases of spam is a bit weird.  What kind of spam I wonder... Spam is a word with so many meanings now.  

It does not give me confidence in giving them my payment details.  Especially when MyWot gives them a 3.5 rating.  

But Norton security check gives them a clean bill of health.
