WHAT ABOUT WETBEDS Now by this i don't mean bedwetting, thats a whole differnt artform!
So In Sweden, its cold... and we have a lot of acid soils with spruces and pines. Now so called wetbeds are getting more popular, it is a garden bed similar to a artificial wetland but no water intake only a overflow. The garden bas is a liner or tarp dug down in the ground a tad, with peat as a base instead of drainage then manure on that.
The reason people do this is so they can have lush gardens in a pine forrest opening for ex. Now I take it (hope) this kan be done hugelkultur-style instead of buying peat blocks which people do here? I think it is very important for the future of agricultural practices in cold climates to find good techniques like this were the landscape is naturally pine and spruce forrest.
