Hi all,
Thank you for joining a conversation together.

We have about 6 different hosts who are excited to hold a workshop in August on our way east, but only 4 weekends, and some private clients who also will want time for site consultation.

I'd like some help from the local folks determining which places to set up as hosts, and who would prefer to help organize the workshops at someone else's house.
Options so far include:
Minnesota...
Michigan - central LP; near Detroit;
Chicago
Cleveland
upstate NY

and then Pittsburgh which isn't in the Great Lakes area but is probably going to happen the first weekend in September.

Ideally, we would set up 2-3 workshops in August. There would be at least a 5 hour drive between sites so nobody feels like the other workshop is poaching their clients. (If two hosts are very eager, we could set up a mid-week evening demonstration at one site, as a promotional event so people sign up for the 'full' workshop at the other location on that weekend.)

Travel costs will be lower if we can proceed from west to east.

Workshop logistics will be smoother if the more experienced event-hosts, or the one with a better facility (simple project, plenty of space, outdoor or indoor fireplace for evening fire-science presentations), confirms as the host, and other locals help with promotion and materials-gathering in exchange for discounts on the workshop.

Thanks for joining the conversation. I request your permission to forward some of the responses to our friends in the Midwest who may not be Permies members, but I want to include them in the conversation.

Yours,
Erica and Ernie
