This was a total barn score from a couple of years ago and it's been sitting in my living room ever since I brought it home and cleaned it up. Today I pulled it out and after washing it again, I ran a bushel of apples through it. Enjoy!

I love to see that wonderful old unit in operation!  However I have to confess I was cringing every time you reached in with a gloved hand to press on the apples while the mangling wheel was spinning.  All it would take is a single thread from your gloves catching on one of the ridges to drag your hand into the machine and pulp some fingers.  Obviously it's not my place to tell you what your tolerance for risk should be, but it seems like maybe having an apple-tamping stick would be a useful safety measure.

I am a notorious wuss about safety issues, though, so take this reaction for whatever it might be worth, but not too seriously.  Thanks again for showing us the machine in action!

I agree as mentioned in the video about having a tamping stick for safety
