These images show a couple of examples of what this course offers...

Designing farm and ranch landscapes for optimising fertility is a job of integrating the water systems, and land components (topography, pastures, treed areas, fencing, roads, etc), and your grazing managment to work together. An example can be seen in the design map image. These synergies combine to produce increasing fertility in the land and improved bottom lines.

The plow photo is the Yeomans Keyline plow I use in New Mexico, where we have had much succesful soil building, water harvesting, erosion control, brush control and other beneficial outcomes. This approach has benefits for wetter and dryer portions of the Pacific Northwest and Cascadia region. The workshop will include a demostration using a Yeomans plow along with learning how to perform Keyline Pattern cultivation with this non-inversion tillage instrument.

See you there!

For a photo gallery of the effects of Keyline pattern cultivation, check out the Circle R Ranch run by Chris Gill in West Texas. N. American Dryland example. He has treated several hundred acres this way...maybe over 1000.
