I was thinking about buying a year-sub, but I'm a little weary that maybe I'll buy the sub and then find that the site is kinda hollow.

I am a member and I check it daily. It has some great content. There is also the free option if you agree to post some content at least 4 times a year....you can check this option out on the main home page.
