Fun lime plaster painting

I’ve been helping a friend with a little studio space out on her land and we are closing in on the top coat of plaster and I offered to add some creative details to one section of the back. I used to do a lot of murals and work with acrylic paint but I’ve been interested recently in finding ways to be creative in the work of lime plasters. I mixed in some powdered pigments and came up with this and today I added a lime wash with some blue powder for a blue sky background. (Picture to come in a little bit)

My only question is if anyone else has experimented with this type of thing and also what if any sort of top coat/sealer does it need?

Very cool!! My thought is to use perhaps tung or linseed oil or maybe a natural shellac, but I have no experience with these. Here to learn and chew ideas.
