Well, looks like is linked to epilepsy too....
All antipsychotic drugs, and most anti parasitic drugs have effect on schizo.

Autistic kids see patterns faster. This is also noted in a couple studies on schizo, tho in schizo, it is noticeable on complex patterns too. Too noticeable, some affected say.

I had toxoplasmosis, which resembles histoplasmosis when it gets in the eye. It is carried by cat feces and farm animals. If you have it, you will test positive for TB. it even resembles TB in being able to affect any organ. When it gets in delicate tissue, it does bad damage...eyes, brain. I read that about 40% of all the retarded children in Willowbrook State School (6000 people) had toxoplasmosis in the brain. The organism is neither bacteria nor virus, but some other microbe. They have to do a special test to see the organism.
I had it a long, long time ago, so the facts about it may have expanded. Back then, they thought babies got it in the womb, and it could show up much later. I was 15 or 16 when I got it in the eye. It caused floaters and ate a hole in the retina. They gave me "Deraprim", an experimental drug that worked.

A great study using a anti-psychotic as an antibacterial.
they discuss removing the psychochems to use as an antibiotic.
They may be missing the main idea, That the schizo is CAUSED by the bacteria.

Now that would be fascinating, to find that a drug could cure schizophrenia. I know, I felt like toxoplasmosis was a greatly under-studied infection when I read about it. About 70-80% of the population test positive for it. It is as common as a common cold. A lot of cases of flus or colds may be toxoplasmosis. Then, it can cause TB in almost any organ, and is devastating to delicate brain and eye tissue.
I often wish I had been some kind of researcher, but that's a long story.

Fascinating, it appears that T. gondi and the brood of parasites evolved in the/before Cambrian, and has been with us since. we actually have some gene sequences to host it. Chirality and panspermia in one...

In a diff paper just published, it shows that neuron stem cells grow much better, and interlock easier, if grown on apacytic frameworks, basically the same structure that these parasites have on their bottom third (tail).

Hi Morgan,
My modem burned out, so I was offline until I got a new one.
This topic is way above me, but sounds fascinating, so I may try reading some of the papers.
I live in an old farmhouse with mice, and I always fear a reoccurrence of toxoplasmosis due to mouse droppings etc. My eye doctor warned me that toxo sometimes returns in old age. I am in my 60s, and I had it when I was 16. It chewed up 60% of my left retina before it was discovered in a routine school eye exam.
They sayover70% of the population has or has had toxo microbes in the body.

This is truly amazing. Are you a medical researcher? You should write articles on this. You could definitely write an article raising the questions, if only for lay magazines.
The only lay article that I ever saw on Toxoplasmosis was in, I think, Family magazine, and it was talking about how pregnant women handling cat boxes would get sick with Toxoplasmosis and their fetuses were born with problems of the eyes, brain and other soft tissues.
If you are doing research for some purpose, I assume you probably already heard about histoplasmosis too??? Histo and toxo are sometimes confused by doctors. My own eye doctor told me that. Histo will eat a semicircular hole in the eye, and so will toxo.
People on this website ought to listen up, because both histo and toxo are so prevalent around barnyards....cats, sheep, mice, chickens.
