I want to use conrods in footings for poles?

Hi, has anyone used conrods - embedded in concrete - as footings to support a structure? - It's something I want to try - -I've drawn a very rough sketch (attached) I'm concerned about the strength of the rod - what kind of weight might it be able to handle...etc. The sketch shows a rectangular reinforcing metal attached through the big-end to anchor more in the concrete.
Any comments, advice, warnings ...welcome

Something I saw recently and liked. On the bottom of post is a slot cut with chainsaw on center, maybe 4" deep. Insert a 3\16 plate or 1\4", 4" by width of post. This allows to get 2 bolts to the post plate connection. You can weld to the plate, whatever configuration below as required in footer. Hope this makes sense
