Chinaberry Allelopathy

Hi, I have a china berry tree on my property and recently read that it is allelopathic, meaning that the roots and leaves emit chemicals that inhibit the growth of other plants. Does anyone have experience growing plants under china berry trees?

If it is, it must be pretty mild. It's an invasive in my area, but seems to grow in thickets with a diversity of other trees: sumac, sweetgum, oaks, persimmon, etc. That could indicate that its allelopathic effects are on short rooted plants, and it has little effect on plants with tap roots. I only got 152 hits with the terms 'chinaberry' and 'allelopathy' on Google Scholar, so it doesn't look like it's been studied much.
