It's very wet and often windy here, with sandy/silty soil in many areas and a lot of riverside flood zones. Luckily, hurricanes typically do not hit us full force, as they tend to approach us from the mainland after they've mostly died down.

On our property the soil is very sandy/silty. We used to be in the 100-year flood plain. We are officially no longer; however, we get frequent, heavy rains during which the ground is completely waterlogged, puddles become lakes, and ditches become rivers.

We have access to clay within a few miles, but I have yet to find any on our property.

Looking for natural/alternative building examples, pictures, ideas, and tips.
