Hello!

My name is Nathan Elliott and my wife and I are looking for 1-5 acres of land in west central or southern Indiana specifically or Indiana in general, but would also be interested in land in northeast Iowa, southern Wisconsin all the way up to juat north of La Crosse(on the western half of the state).  Would be interested about anywhere in the midwest.  1 acre would be fine, but 2-5 acres would be perfect for us.  Anymore would probably too much monies here in the midwest as far as momey we are wanting to spend.

We like to garden and envision planting a small orchard with fruit and nut tress and native perennials such as ramps, yampah, cammas, alliums in general, oxypolis rigidior to name a few plus some prairie plants if full sun like prairie dock and compass plant and leadplant.

When not gardening planting trees we enjoy backpacking, bicycling, being in the woods, playing with dogs, foraging, hunting( though I'm not that good at it!) learning new skills, and generally just having fun.  We love the midwest!

Anyways we hope to vuild ourselves a nice little cottage someday soon and we would much appreciate any help.  Thank you very much.

Hi, Nathan. I hope you and your family find something wonderful! I'm in "west Central" Wisconsin, St. Croix co. currently - renting. From my area here but have spent time in northern IL and am slightly familiar with the topography, at least, of SW WI. BTW I highly recommend the Panfrey's Glen hike in the Devil's lake state park (confusing to get to - you have to actually drive OUT of the park proper to get to it) and the free Ferry across "lake" Wisconsin at Merrimac. Anyway, one site you may not know of and which I see a bit of traffic on, so, may be helpful, is the "Seeking Farmers Seeking Land Clearinghouse" . You don't have to be a farmer per se to list on it. People seeking various farm and homestead type opportunities list on there. It's free to browse listings, costs a little ($20 I think) to place an ad. There seems to be a high percentage of organic and homestead-minded folks using it. Properties and opportunities with or without housing are included. Blessings!

What I don't understand is how they changed the earth's orbit to fit the metric calendar. Tiny ad:
