oh sorry
i wanted to buy a 10 (i want to grow it out to between 20 breeding females) cattle herd and i needed the best mini cows breeds that could work in my system. which the lady wasnt sure of. they are organic cattle but they havent been in the systems ive been describing just normal pasture. so i ask her what was the best breeds that could breed outdoors and without help. she said that jersey breed did really well without too many issues. but she said that guernsey jersey minis crosses she has been working on for the last 4 years.. i could "baby sit" while she was gone for 3 months. so i can give it a go without too much drama. and she will get a free pasture for a couple of months. and i get the daughters that could be good breeders. it's pretty much her daughter herd . she was going to sell off but we have drought in california and people arent buying cattle like mad right now. a lot of people are culling herds. i thought it was a pretty good deal. a better than good deal. because ive been grazing my elderly neighbors pastures which havent been converted over to permaculture system. but are certified organic. hay fields. that never really made it to hay.. long story sorry
