Foundation plant

My porch is only 2 feet tall. I have low height shrubs and I am putting Stella D Or lily's in front of them. What would be a plant or flower to put against the foundation around the house that is easy to maintain? And my flower beds have river rock gravel.

Are you thinking of more ornamental plants or were you considering something edible?

More ornamental. I have a bunch of cone flower seeds that I've started in pots. Then I also have some tutti fruity lupine but they are short lived. I've thought about Lavender. I'm just not sure.

Zone? what direction does it face? Sun or shaded? Soil? Do you want to cloak the foundation in the winter? will it get water?

We are Zone 8. We face the North and I get morning sun in on the front of the porch and front of the garage but the breezeway let's sun into the flower bed between the house and garage all day so full sun there. I'm not sure what cloak in winter means?
