Hi I need help figuring out what kind of baby turtles I have I think they are western painted turtles but I'm not sure we have a pond in our yard and one day we found a turtle on the side of a road and brought her home well a few days later she layed some eggs well they hatched yesterday and I'm trying to make sure I know what kind they are.
Chrysemys are a broad species group...it's impossible to even come close on just verbal description alone. If possible a photo of the carapace and plastron (top shell and belly region) would be helpful....

For neonate in this genus of turtle (and a few others) that is too generic a description to identify them fully....sorry...
But, hey...you have turtles, and that's great, and it does sound like a "painted turtle" variety. Get a photo up and I might be able to do better...at least to "regional" species as this Genus has many subspecies...
