This is not needed for really wind areas because you'll be able to feel the wind all the time, but is kind of cool and you all will have to figure out how useful it is for less windy situations.
It's not windy around here at all for the most part but it's good to know how air moves through the system anyways. I had a fire in one of those moveable metal pits and if you want to see how the air moves, take a leaf blower and kick all that really fine soot into the air. A huge cloud will form and slowly drift along the paths formed by the landscape. I was just being lazy and thought maybe spreading the ash like that would help fertilize stuff to boot, but this was a nice bonus and it's really easy to see the microclimates forming turbulence or parts of the cloud that get moved faster, etc.
Take from it what you will I don't know how useful that is but it could be to someone!
