organic producer, help wanted,

Hello fellow Permies ~ I am looking for a permaculturist and producer of local veggies to come join my scene, Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm in Middletown, Lake County CA, 2 hours north of the bay area. You can check me out on facebook or Wwoof.org at Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm.

Successful candidate will be comfortable taking lead role in all aspects of running a commercial local foods garden, organic and using permaculture techniques like poly crops and compatibility planting, sustainable watering systems, etc. Most beds are in place for annuals, and lots of permanent trees, herbs, vines in place that just need to be tended to. All expenses to grow food are covered, and there is a huge seed bank to work with and supplies. There are markets already in place to tap into, and training will be provided on the marketing end.

Here is a list of the key responsibilities/requirements:
   Passionate and dedicated local foodie
   Must have serious green thumb
Permaculture Design Cert desirable but not required
1 year of experience as a gardener of produce
Develop planting schedule according to seasons and market demands
Start seedlings in greenhouse/ or inside sunny window
   Transplant and weed as needed
Mulch, fertilize, spray for bugs/diseases, weed, and harvest veggies & fruits
Harvest for, attend and run farmer’s market table once per week from May to September
List produce for sale online, manage and deliver online orders for Lake County Organics Plus and Mendo-Lake Food HUB once per week.
Manage overages and bumper crops for bulk sales as needed (help provided).
Experience on farms helpful, especially water systems and basic carpentry, etc.

Compensation for approximately 50-75% FTE is as follows ~
Room, access to community living space and access to farm food. (room only shared when Wwoofer’s visit)
   75% profits from all sales
Monthly stipend while growing business to be negotiated based on experience, workload and sales
Access to learning opportunities, workshops and other happenings at the farm.
Portfolio builder!! Expert advise and assistance in growing your career.

Interested parties should contact Brenda at 707-987-8719.

   Thanks for reading!!
