Description:  This is a part-time, seasonal position; 25-40hours/week February-Mid June.  Most of your time is keeping the greenhouse full of edible plants.  You work with interns and volunteers who help you do this.  You also help with marketing, outreach, and general business needs.  In Mid-June the hours significantly reduce to 8-10/week, but you will be prioritized for landscape hours if you choose.

Responsibilities
1. Attend 2 hour CEL meetings every 1-2 weeks.
2. Maintain and manage greenhouse systems, tools, and supplies.
3. Co-create Planting Calendar, with CEL partner support
4. Propagate a variety of annuals and perennial edible plants.
5. Research & acquire plant material and seeds suitable for Western Washington
6. Coordinate and promote Planting-Parties in conjunction CEL staff, volunteers & interns.
7. Communicate regularly with Community Supported Plant Starts (CSPS) Manager
8. Write approximately 1 article/month for CEL Newsletter and website.
9. Staff 1-2 Farmers Markets/Week in Springtime
10. Occasional marketing time at exhibitions and misc. events

Required qualifications:
• Demonstrated capacity to work with guidance AND independently
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, & adaptability to changing situations
• Willingness to work 1 weekend day during Spring
Experience with MS Excel program and data tracking/entry.
• Reliable transportation/ ability to travel to South Seattle on a regular basis
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
• Social Grace

Desired Qualifications:
• Previous greenhouse or horticultural experience.
• Proficiency other language(s)
• Experience working with young people and volunteers
• Sales experience

Compensation:
$10-12/hour, DOE, plus bonuses for meeting team Greenhouse goals as well as landscape project referrals.  Travel cost at Government Rate when using vehicle for business. Landscape-construction hours will also available if you choose .
