I am building my second maybe third AQP system the last 2 that i build were very high in
energy consumption due to heating and cool them in the winter and summer months. Mostly to keep the fish at optimal temperatures. This time I am planning on putting the fish tanks in the ground about 75% allowing the grow beds to drain directly in to them. I am also planning on installing geothermal type temperature control also known as an earth battery if i am not mistaken or heat exchange. This is the basic plan I am struggling with the planning of my swirl filters and
feed to the grow beds. Usually every thing flows down hill where my grow beds are below the tanks and the swirl filter is in between. I only have a pump from the fill tank back to the fish tanks this time it seems that I will need to have a tank in between the swirl filter and the grow beds where I can place my pump to get the
water up to my grown beds. I also wanted to go completely around my tanks with soil for better insulation and a more stable water temp. This does not seem to be possible, will it really matter if the tanks are not 100% surrounded by soil? I do plan to have the top exposed and the at this point he front where the drain will be. I am also concerned about maintenance
should I need to get to the pipes for a leak or broken pipe I dont want to have to dig every thing back up. If any one has any ideas or advice it would be much appreciated.
