School hens - like school gardens? Not practical?

Have any public schools or private schools been able to keep laying hens at the school? School gardens have caught on -- in part because they are much easier.

But, I am not sure it is practical for schools to keep hens and I am looking for examples. Any leads or thoughts much appreciated.

We are in Miami and have recently gotten our lovely 4 laying hens for our backyard Ark. We love our hens, eggs and the world it has opened up. If it could be done in a school, the kids would love it too.
