Hi guys,

I thought you might want to see my hydroponics project.  I am currently working on a aquaponics conversion that I am documenting and I will be able to share the results with you at the end of March.

But for now here is more info about me and my projects....

I am a teacher who teaches grades 10 to 12.  I started a hydroponics project with my classroom, which has turned into a filming a documentary on permaculture, hydroponics, aquaponics, and sustainability.

I grow my own vegetables indoors at home using 90watt led lights.
You can see the monster broccoli that I grew indoors on youtube:

This is footage of my indoor grow room:

This is a video on how to build a simple hydroponic system for very little money - step by step -

This is my schools website of where I teach at with our announcement of our documentary:

Finally, here are photos of our classrooms project:

I hope you enjoy and get inspired to do your own projects and spread the word!!!

Interesting. I have a hydroponics kit from way back that has come with us to France but hasn't been out of its resting place in 5 years now. I didn't like the useage of such high amounts of electricity, especially the 'grow lights' but I notice wmk that you use LED. Plus I didn't like the chemical cocktail that had to be added to the water - just didn't seem very organic. Maybe that's changed too. I'm all ears if things have moved on in 8 years.

permaculture is largely about replacing oil with people. And one tiny ad:
