Paul, have you contacted your local utility company for free wood chips? I get some delivered when they are in my area cleaning up. I think most if not all power companies love to have a place close to where they are trimming to drop off chips. I got 4 loads worth last year, they are happily decomposing for me. If you set up a drop off for them they will just show up every few years and drop off as much as you have room for. They can be used for all kinds of things as I am sure you know.

When they first arrive and are still full of sugars or whatever you can separate a pile for growing gourmet mushroom spores in them and cover with a tarp to keep moisture in, voila you have gourmet mycelium pushing up delicious shrooms in no time. This also works by drilling holes in year old stumps and hammering in plugs permeated in mycelium.

I don't think anyone has mentioned beer in the potting trays? About a half to one inch in each tray (anything with a deep steep lip I guess) in various areas... I think they drown, not for sure. It's easy enough to try

The are you human part refers to the following part of the page.

------------------------------------------------------
Type in the text field the word shown in the image: *

Hard to see the words? Generate a new one
-----------------------------------------------------------

I can't see well and they are pita to me, but the part I am referring to is the red text at the top of the page that says "fields with an * are required" it doesn't go away even if you have filled it all properly and submitted change.
https://permies.com/forums/user/edit/152294 has a red error message "Fields with the "*" are required".
After redoing the "are you human crap" several times I realized my changes had been accepted although the red message never left. Please change it to green so others aren't confused as well, nothing should be red like that unless there was a page error, imho

What about unrolling the spool, attaching it to a drill, and running it back onto the spool between a sandpaper rig? or better yet from one spool to another if possible?

it would be a pain to do the extra step of abrading the surface while it is still on the roll but that may solve the issue or maybe the "copper deterrent" is just an "old wives tale."

I was thinking it just needs to tarnish and get the green on it maybe? Put your tongue on the clean one, then a tarnished one... IDK if that would make a difference or not, just a thought I had while watching the vid. Sent a mail to Paul about he made me register so I could post it here, hehe. (actualy I thought I was registered) Thanks Paul.

Perhaps there is a factory finish on the copper tape which keeps the "slug juice" from contacting the copper. I am not sure and it does seem as if it would be a pain to do the extra step of abrading the surface while it is still on the roll but that may solve the issue or maybe the "copper deterrent" is just an "old wives tale."
