I wanted to run the system by you all before buying the rest of the components. First I'm building an off grid system. I already have 12 x 255 watt Canadian panels for a total of 3000w. In the future I want to add another 1500w. I want to build a 48v battery bank. I don't know my power needs yet but currently we use about 300kW to 600kw a month with normal living on grid which includes the a/c in the summer. For the offgrid house I want to add a 12v system for lights off the 48v bank using a step down converter or by another charge controller to a 12v battery.

Here's what I want to get let me know if it will work or if it's just not going to work right.

I think to reviews are great. It would be awesome if you could give a more in depth review for us lazy people who don't like reading. But that would most likely end with a lawsuit. But from the reviews I bought 2 of the books.

I would like to be a gapper. I have read lots of posts about it but I'm not sure if you will take me. I read the post gappers with kids but my circumstances are a little different. I'm almost done listening to all the podcasts. I agree with you on almost everything you stand for like 99%. I would like to spend a year under the Wheaton command. here is a little about me. I'm a bad speller but am very skilled with working with my hands for my age (29). Currently I am a journeyman Refer tech. Which gives me lots of experience with heating, electrical, welding and endless amounts of trouble shooting problems. I can follow directions but am self starting. I am careful with tools knowing the value of them as my job depends on it. I also have a family that would be coming. I have a 18 month girl Ava and soon to be new baby in May. Ava is very easy and well behaved. I do not let her run wild. I know that is a concern of yours. My wife will watch the kids and work part time in town to support us. We are debt free so we do not need much to live on. I will be mainly the only one working for you. We have a fifth wheel to live in and will take care of ourselves financially and temporarily which includes food. What I want from this is knowledge and hands on experience. With the best people possible. I want to be part of the innovation to contribute where my skills are needed. I need to learn how a successful community works. With this knowledge I will apply it to my own land in the future. Creating a farm better then the bullock bros. Having a community on my homestead that works. If this is something that would work for you I want to take the next step which is sending in the gapper money. I am a man of my word and do not have the Craigslist mentality.

That is so cool. It would be neat to see how much power it uses.

I don't know much about RMH but in most high effient gas heaters we install condensate drains to catch all the water. I've have wondered how people were not having issues with rusted ducting.

Sheri thanks for the response. I guess I missed that the only water he uses was harvested from the rain. That gives me more hope. I just keep watching videos and notice all the irrigation lines. Hopefully those people are not cheating their results.

Please help me understand. I am still learning a lot about greening the desert (about a year) but not sure what the point of swell are for if you have drip lines on all the trees and where you didn't water the trees as much they died. If the trees cannot survive on natural rain fall what's the point. Can you please explain more or point me in the right direction on how this is going to work without irrigation. At the end of the video you are going to plant trees that require more water will those have to be watered or just the outer trees. I am on the land search again and have been looking at drier climates but am still not 100% it's possible to change the land. Into a productive farm.

The last box I installed start to finish for a 15 x15 was around 20k. A normal tech will charge around 65 hour if it's side work. My company bills out at 130 an hour. If I were you I would buy a couple chest freezers.
