Hi All
We have been running a 2" WILCOX for over 25 years, and when we got it it was second hand and really old. Amazing.
Over the years I have made several mods and am just now in the process of making an upgraded version, as a [production model, with better corrosion resistance and slightly better bearings that are easy to field refit, and so on.
It does about 45 million strokes a year and pumps 5000 liters a day up 80+ M with a 12M drive pipe from a 4M head.
We use 20mm AG pipe and standard fittings, all buried of course. We use a 200 L poly header-tank with strainers made from shade cloth, and a big strainer at the pickup point, with a 3" AG supply pipe 100 M long with another 6M fall to the 200L header.
If you or anyone else here is interested in knowing more about these truly amazing pumps, how to make them work, and where to get parts remade, or want to buy a whole new one, just drop me a line.
Email is harry(at) springstudio dot com dot au and in the interests of conservation and the joy of having that old pump knocking away day and night I'll be most glad to help if I can.
