There is a long list of life lessons learned regarding Costa Rica and Belize. I am happy to share them with you.
Basically, all Americans are considered millionaires and targets for money and stuff.
The laws and way of doing business are meant to hinder you so you will pay a bribe or commission to get them to do what they should do.
Many see you as a sugar daddy to sponsor and support them. Safety has become a big issue since COVID.
The countries are bankrupt and want your money.
Call me at 713 822 0276 or email me at mmorningstar1@gmail.com so we can discuss them in depth.
I also have many questions for you so maybe we can support each other.

Saw your reply to Stever Ferwerda. Then read some of your website.
Your information on LEF and LIVE looks brilliant. I like what you are doing at LEF.
Your information on LIVE is way over my head at this time and when I find my new land and am ready for a solar system will be contacting you.
I am also looking for land in Puerto Rico, TN and TX to do what Steve is doing.
Great information on off grid living and power.
Thanks

Congratulations on your land purchase in PR. You picked a great area that I visited on my land hunting trip in 2019.
I had identified a 100-acre property nearby owned by a guy from NY but someone else bought it before I could make an offer.
I also plan to buy land in PR but on the East or SE side of the island for many reasons.
I am selling my 59 acres of land near Uvita, Costa Rica and 649 acres of land in Belize to fund a project much like your plans.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing more about your progress in the future.
If you hear of 100 acres of land near the Maunabo or Roseavelt Roads area please let me know.
I plan to visit again around late July 2022.
Thanks

I spoke with Skai about 2 years ago regarding their project in Luquillo Puerto Rico (East of San Juan). Unfortunately, things did not work out and she had moved back to the US mainland. She was leasing the land from the government and ran into numerous challenges to difficult to overcome. This is a big challenge when you do not own your property and are leasing and have payments and regulations to follow and you are not in control of your destiny. IMO the only way to make a project work is to own the land and have the resources, skills, and team in place to make your vision a reality.  I think she was in the Atlanta area when I spoke with her and I asked her many questions to learn why her project did not succeed. It is always great to learn from people who have done it what works and what does not work.

I am a raving fan of Paul and Permies and I found these older messages on Permies because I am doing research on Puerto Rico for a future project I am planning. FYI I heard Paul speak at the Exit and Build Land Summit in Bastrop Texas recently and he was brilliant and humorous as always.  BTW Marjory Wildcraft (The Grow Network) also spoke at the event and mentioned she has now moved to Puerto Rico to start a community farming project. There are some great people in Puerto Rico looking to do permaculture projects.

Paul your content, information, and resources are amazing. I enjoy learning and reading your posts.
I have consistently blogged once a week for over a decade and even paid to move my old content to WordPress years ago.
No ads on my blogs and just a pure desire to share life lessons learned regarding Nutrition, Emotions, Wellness and Success that can be read in two minutes.
The original name was Great NEWS Coach.com  then friends said to change it to MichaelMorningstar.com so I did. Morningstar NEWS
While it has been a challenge at times to create interesting content I continue to type away.
I feel my readership is less than optimal but am looking for ways to reach more people.
Maybe people are so busy with so much social media and life that it is hard to crack the code.
Maybe the threads you create are helpful for engagement. The treads are less appealing to me.
I am considering shifting to video blogs next year on Youtube since people seem to gravitate to videos.
Several friends have strongly suggested the switch. I did a few on Fb and enjoyed them.
My blogs take hours to write and a good video can be done in under 10 minutes even with prep and setup.
I started a project on 149 acres of land in Belize and had planned to connect with you for coaching and guidance to role model.
After years of work getting the title, electricity, 2 eco houses (stabilized compressed earth block), water well, and planting food CV stalled my project.
I am back in the US and putting the Belize project up for sale to reinvest in Puerto Rico and start my project there. Safer and smarter than Belize.
Once I have the land and a place to live there I plan to come to visit and see your wonderland in Montana.
Thanks for everything you do to help people, improve the world and be an inspiration for permaculture .

Great content on Permies.
Key words  permaculture News in name send a clear message.
I agree with your frustration and observations . Many non profits have become self serving top heavy money grabbers that get big donations but spend more on the organization than the good they really deliver. The Red Cross is one example of a bloated non profit that talks big but delivers small. After disasters and  hurricans they collect big bucks but do very little good with that money.  Most are really giant tax loop holes with power backers.
