WORK: Looking for a live-in childcare provider and permaculture enthusiast for 3 months on agro-ecology fruit farm in the mountains above Mayaguez, PR starting early August. Childcare involves watching one 1 1/2 year old. Watching includes: feeding, playing, singing, dancing, changing diapers/assist in potty-training, and exploring nature etc... This would be in the afternoon and evenings for between 25-30/hr a week. Live off the land. Assist in growing your own food. Day trips to the beach. Explore the river. Immerse yourself in tropical permaculture. Must be cool with dogs.
EXCHANGE: $50/week and furnished room, utilities, internet, and board. Car use up for discussion based on driving history and availability.

US: Mom will be away for most of the work period, but we are a couple that moved to Puerto Rico recently from the US to join the permaculture community and live a healthier life connected to the land. We had a bean-to-bar chocolate company and a little homestead within a city. For reasons of family and opportunity on the island, we pulled up our roots and touched down in Finca Familia. The farm is conventionally structured and managed. Therefore, we are in the process of restoring the soil and diversifying into an agroforestry. Current fruit trees include coffee, cacao, mango, citrus, pineapple, papaya, rambutan, banana, plantain, jobo, yucca, malanga, avocado, and a kitchen garden. We have a wonderful furry dog member of the family, Bree.
