My two keets are now two weeks old and seem to he doing well. I'm brooding them in a 100 gallon horse trough with a heat lamp on one end. Lately, though, they are spending all their time on the opposite end of the trough as the lamp.  Is it ok to remove the lamp, or should I keep it there for a while in case they decide to use it again?  How long do they need a lamp?

Thanks for the bump.  Unfortunately, he didn't make it. He had many other problems besides just blindness. He was deformed in many other ways outwardly, and I'm pretty sure inwardly as well. The other two are doing great! They're demanding little Bottomless pits.

My neighbor is moving and has given me three keets that are 4 days old. However, one of the keets is blind. It looks like it simply has its eyes closed, but never opens them. Any tips on what I can do to help this baby? I am considering banding the others and attaching small Christmas bells to them so the blind one can keep up. I have 3 acres but am afraid the others may not stay on property, leaving this little one defenseless.
