57 YO male...Maybe I am not your "cup of tea". For starters, I have done the actual and REAL wilderness survival thing, A while back I was laid off from my maintenance job here in the KC area...I had always wanted to challenge myself to the wilderness survival thing...So I made arrangements to have someone "drop me off" on the Canada/Minnesota border...at the beginning of September....With only what I carried on my back. Suffice it to say that I did just fine and continued my challenge until the following mid may. I not only managed, but enjoyed weather where the temperatures dropped down to -40f for weeks at a time... Not an easy life, but one that I loved every single day. I did not make this decision with a large bank account, In actuality I chose to do this on a budget of less than $300...for the entire excursion.(Minus the money that went into start up supplies). I am certain that some other person has already responded to your story, I would just like to introduce myself. At this point I have planned a "rest of life" excursion...prepared far FAR better than the first time...and would like nothing more than to share that life with a like minded person. In my first excursion, my only"visitor" was a weasel who visited almost every day...We became so accustomed to each other that he/she would come up and put its paws on my shoes and just stare at me....Never actually allowed me to touch him/her....but he trusted me enough to give that pleasure. Any way, without rambling further, I'd like to present myself for your consideration. Sincerely hope all is well and that you have found someone who you are comfortable with. Ed Meyer
