Hello, to my knowledge european law only prohibits rainwater for drinking, food handling and higiene if it's meant for public use (you cannot provide water intended for human uses in a hotel, for example).

But you can use it for private use, in your house. Basically, the government can't stop you from drinking any fluid you want, including wastewater. But it can stop you from putting other people in a position to do so.

The same goes for rainwater

Safflower is used as a spice in the Azores, pretty much like saffron.

Hello everybody,

I'm quite new in this permaculture thing but obviously I find amazing.
For quite some time now I've been thinking how could one produce oil while incorporating permaculture designs/concepts. Now with this energy crisis it obvious (if it wasn't before) the need for at least some energy auto-sufficiency from non-petroleum producing countries, and vegetable oil will surely play a huge part in this.
So I was thinking of designing a guild aimed at producing oil. Given my region (Azores, Middle of the Atlantic, sort of tropical and maritime climate), in theory, the following oil producing plants are available:
- Camellia japonica;
- pumpkin
- sunflower (low yields expected because of climate)
- soybean
- safflower

To these I would be adding mulchers and accumulators like yarrow, chickweed and nettles.

Could you please give me some feedback and tips on how to go about the desing, or am I helpless in trying to achieve this? Thank you very much for your attention.
