Biography
I am finishing my PhD in Spiritual Practices (Christian, Vedic, Islamic, Pantheistic, I honor them all). Formerly I was a filmmaker.  Class A CDL. I got my permaculture certification at Zaytuna Islamic College in Berkley.  Rhamis Kent was the instructor.  Islamic environmental ethics are serious! Me and my dog Willow live totally off the grid on 330 acres adjacent to Alamo Lake in AZ.  Zone 9b.  It's a ghost town! I am slowly starting to green the desert.  I welcome volunteers and those interested in forming community.

My mom grew up on a farm not too far from where Little House on the Prairie took place. We watched it in TV every Monday night and read all of the books šŸ¤—šŸ¤—

I know this thread is kinda old....but I've gotta add to it.

I have two hens, I've named them Ellen DeHenneres, and Dinah (something that sounds like Shore).   They are a lesbian couple!!  They have hen sex all day long.  My rooster, RooPaul, runs over all upset and ready to fight when he sees someone mounting one of "his" girls.  When Ellen hops off, RooPaul checks her up and down and realizes she is a hen not a rooster!  He gets all confused but waddles off instead of cockfighting.

You may ask "gee, how can hens have lesbian chicken sex?"  Apparently cocks don't have a cock, so all chicken sex is kinda the same...

We have a lot of invasive tamarisk (salt cedar).  Is anyone out there putting it to good use?

Hi!  I am developing a permaculture and wilderness retreat center for veterans and trauma survivors.  The county of Mohave has requested a site plan for the campground area.  Our non-profit can offer payment.  The issue is, we are waaaay off-the-grid and having trouble finding someone to come out.  We will need to develop a relationship with an architect to assist with future projects.  You can stay overnight in my guest room and I can give you a tour of the entire 330 acres and what we are planning on doing.  We are adjacent to Alamo Lake, accessible from the 93 out of Wikieup or I-40 out of Yucca.  50 miles of country graded dirt road.

After much difficulty with volunteers, I am starting to email people a copy of the volunteer release form they will have to sign.  It is very detailed and includes rules, regulations, expectations, etc....I am hoping this starts to eliminate people form whom my place is not a good fit.  And if they turn out not to be a good fit upon arrival, I will have an clear way to ask them to leave, per the volunteer contract they signed.  The first person I sent it too was very triggered by some of the requirements and it let me know right away they were not a food fit.

I wanted to post a follow up to my post from a year ago.  The universe is an amazing collaborator!  I had a woman rent my airbnb for a day, and return the following spring with a dozen volunteers from Germany who camped out and planted the permaculture botanical garden!  When you say a prayer you never know from which direction the answer will appear!

I just want to say that I so with I had your problem!  Are you in a hot area of TX?  Obviously these grapes have adapted well.  Would you be willing to share a root so I can try growing them in Arizona?

Adding one more plant!  Awapuhi, a member of the ginger family from Hawaii?  I'm not sure about cleaning your dishes, but your body and hair, yes! the flowers are bursting with a watering substance great for hair and skin.  I just ordered a bag of rhizomes and planted them in different spots to see where they are happiest

I have finally given up coffee (again) and I am thrilled that my natural energy levels have returned for the better!!

That being said, if I am going to cheat I'm going with the Turkish coffee (with some cardamon sprinkled on top), or  Thai iced coffee made with instant and coconut milk  Or I will happily join someone who offers me coffee, however it is made, for the ritual and fun of it....but I am no longer buying that cray cray stuff to have at my house!  I get addicted far too easily.
