Hello fellow rust removers. What ever happened to DrX. That formula worked so well and also was biodegradable, non-corrosive. Gloves were worn to keep away from the rust not the chemical. I have tried the Beyond Balistics formula. It works well for dipping things.
First I made a one liter with washing soda. Fomula 1.
Second, I followed the same recipe with lye or caustic soda. Formula two.
Third. I combined the above two formulas in two liters of water. Wow, that was much more effective. 30-45 minutes dipping time for clean metal.
Getting back to DrX. A person could de-rust a project car just by spraying the project car with a pump bottle. I tried doing this on rusty wheels but the power washer was not up to the task.
I will try again with a new power washer rated at 4300psi. I will also continue to see if there are advantages of combining the different recipes together.
I wish someone had an old bottle of DrX that I could take to a lab. LoL
