We are a quiet, dependable, and hardworking couple seeking a long-term property caretaking or on-site host assistance arrangement in exchange for a place to park our 16-foot fully self-contained travel trailer, with occasional access to a simple 1–2 bedroom dwelling if available. We are clean, respectful, drama-free, and value stable, long-term arrangements built on trust, accountability, and consistency.

We are small entrepreneurs.

I am 35 with a background in finance, operations, and crypto investing, and my partner is 32 with professional experience in management and customer service. We have been together for four years and have lived and traveled extensively throughout the U.S., including Florida, Las Vegas, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Tennessee, and beyond. I have over a decade of experience living the minimalist RV lifestyle, and my partner is fully committed to simple, alternative living that prioritizes self-reliance, reduced consumerism, and long-term sustainability.

We are ideally suited for absentee property owners, snowbirds, second-home owners, short-term rental operators, or farm, ranch, and landowners who need reliable year-round or seasonal support. Our needs are minimal: access to electricity (30-amp preferred, though a standard outlet works), water via hose, and septic access if available (not required). We are fully comfortable living in our trailer through all seasons, including winter conditions and semi off-grid environments.

In exchange, we provide full-service property caretaking, including routine security checks, snow removal, yard and land maintenance, gardening, animal care, minor repairs, and mail or package handling. For Airbnb or VRBO properties, we can assist with guest communication, check-ins and check-outs, cleaning and laundry between stays, restocking supplies, light landscaping, and overall property oversight, with the goal of improving guest satisfaction, reviews, and booking performance. We are also happy to help with special projects, fencing, general labor, or ongoing improvements. We are fast learners who take pride in thorough, high-quality work.

We enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle that includes hiking, backpacking, skiing, camping, cooking, gardening, and exploring nature, and we especially appreciate mountain or rural settings. We have two young, well-behaved (though energetic) Huskies and are responsible pet owners who prioritize daily exercise, structure, and fresh-cooked meals for them. Our long-term goal is to move toward full homesteading and self-sufficiency, and we are very open to learning, mentorship, and skill-sharing as part of a work-trade arrangement.

Our preferred locations are rural or semi-rural areas with mountains. We are not big on the desert so probably isn't a fit if that's where you are. Just being honest 😆. We enjoy the mountains very much.

Affordable cash rent is also an option if a full exchange is not possible. References from past property arrangements are available upon request.

If you are a property owner, short-term rental host, or landowner seeking dependable, hands-on, long-term assistance and have space for an RV, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Please email details first, and we can arrange a phone call if it seems like a good fit.

Hello!

My girlfriend and I came across your post about the old farm near Murphy, NC, and we’re genuinely excited—it sounds like exactly the kind of opportunity we’ve been seeking as we build toward full homesteading.

We’re a quiet, reliable couple in our mid-30s (together 4 years) who’ve been living a minimalist RV lifestyle for years while actively pursuing self-sufficiency. For the past 6 months, we’ve been on-site property caretaking for an owner while they sell their home (handling maintenance, repairs, security, showings, and general oversight). We’re wrapping that up and planning to relocate within the next 2 months at most, so your timing feels spot-on. We have been in Maine for the last 3 winters and will be planning to leave soon.

We currently live year-round in a self-contained 16ft travel trailer (minimal needs: electric + water), but we’re very open and enthusiastic about moving into the 2-bedroom house you’re offering.

Why we feel we’d be a strong, long-term fit:

- Hands-on blue-collar experience: I grew up around tools and machinery and have spent years in physical jobs as well as odd jobs—property caretaking, snowmaking, wildlife control, warehouse/assembly lines, lawn services, hotel maintenance, fencing, and more. I’m fairly comfortable with most power tools better than someone who is green, equipment, basic plumbing/electrical, building projects, and farm/ranch work. I’m a quick learner and enjoy hands-on problem-solving.
- My girlfriend brings excellent management and customer-service skills—she’s highly organized and keeps operations running smoothly.
- Your priorities (pasturing pigs and goats, growing produce, cheese-making, meat-curing) align perfectly with the skills we’re eager to develop and master. The clean-slate approach and upcoming barn-building are especially appealing—we’re ready to dive in and help create productive, sustainable systems.
- We have two young, well-behaved Siberian Huskies (exercised daily on hikes, fed fresh homemade food).
- Excellent property references available from current and past caretaking roles.

We truly appreciate that the goal is productivity rather than profit, and we’d love to contribute full-time to bringing the farm’s potential to life while learning from you as retirement approaches.

Could you share a little more about the acreage size, expected move-in timeline, and general salary range? We’d be happy to hop on a call to discuss details and answer any questions you have if it sounds like this might be something you'd be interested in.

Thank you—we’re really looking forward to the possibility of partnering with you on this exciting project.
