I recently purchased an old, overgrown farm near Murphy, NC, and am excited by the future potential. With retirement looming, my goal is to find an industrious and possibly experienced couple to build and operate this farm. Pasturing pigs and goats is important to me, as well as some produce. Other than that I am prepared to offer a clean slate for initiating whatever programs you would like. Cheese-making and meat-curing would be great additions. Fences are almost complete, and we will be building barns soon!
I can offer a 2 bedroom house, electricity, wifi, a vehicle, and a salary.
My goal is not to make this farm profitable, only productive.

Hello my wife and I are looking for a small homestead atmosphere we are both in our 40s but that being said we have lived off the grid several times in eastern Kentucky with no running water outhouses as well and very limited electricity. We will both work our buttz off to maintain a place to settle down. During this pandemic we have saved up some cash and only have a small car and clothes to bring. We are used to hard work and we want to be in a productive society, that being said we are very self oriented and we work very well together. My email is davidbruhn75@icloud.com if you have any thing available and would like two sets of helping hands on your farm please email me back thank you

Hello,
If this position is still open, we are a family with two young sons open to a long term position at a working farm to gain experience. People we admire are Joel Salatin, Wendell Berry and my grandfather who raises Angus cows in Iowa. Please reach out at Caitlinbrittain @ Gmail . Com if you are still looking for someone.

We are a 22 and 25 year old couple (Anthony & Michayla) who is looking for land to live on in exchange for labor around the property, or any other work you may have for us. Anthony (25) has experience in pest control & some handy-man skills, but other than that we only have blue collar experience. We are hoping that through mentorship we can gain knowledge and eventually take on more responsibilities in exchange for a place on your property to build a tiny home or if not possible, just park a camper van. We are hoping that through this symbiotic relationship we can gain the hands on experience to begin our own homestead one day. We are quite, humble people with a sweet dog named Harper, who has more farm experience than we do (:

Hi Anthony,

I just read your post. Are you still looking for a place to stay in exchange for work? Here is what I am looking for. I am purchasing 10 acres of gorgeous woods in Northern Florida with an abandoned home and two sheds. In exchange for living onsite for a year, I am looking for someone to rehab this home so it's off-grid ready. That means it must be structurally sound, painted, cleaned and as whole is inhabitable without adding solar power, showers, toilet or anything else that may require too much experience.

We are not connected at all so water may be an issue for you when living there-- we could talk about this. Once the home is complete (is inhabitable), we can discuss the future about the following year, maybe you two learning how to put in solar, dig a well connected to solar, composting toilet, aquifer shower, etc. For now I would just like the home to look pleasant on the inside and out. We can learn the off grid stuff as we go.

I am willing to work with you two on how we do this. I would be living in another state so it really would be all yours to explore.
Let me know if you are interested,
nnwasmer@gmail.com

Thank you
Natalie

Howdy! I'm gonna send you a PM message, I am very interested in talking further. I really want to be in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I have deeper connections with that Land than anyplace else.
Take care,
Cam
