This is a project thread to discuss the 'Dry Stack Moon Gate' project!

Dry stacked rock retaining walls are affordable and easy to produce plus, you can do some pretty cool things like make a dry stack moon gate.  Rock lasts a lot longer than wood, meaning that if stacked correctly, your dry stack project could last a very, very long time.  For the 2023 PTJ, what about correctly stacking rock to have a wall with a 2-foot round hole?

Would you like to build one of these in your garden?

And to complete the circle, you can now see the completed moon gate from the PTJ this year.  Check out Paul's stroll around Wheaton Labs to check out a bunch of new projects, courtesy of the events and permaculture bootcamp peeps.
