Help!? My pumpkins are under siege by squash borers!

How do I combat this? I saw a leaf broken over and thought a bird or squirrel had broken it. Today I come out to look around and I see my pumpkin vines are being hollowed out!! D :
What can I do?

Just a little tip, look under your posting, and it will give you a bunch of links. This is a common issue, and rather than recapitulate what smarter people have written- there are some good threads.

No problem. I mostly am on mobile, but the recommendations tend to be good. I often end up "down the rabbit hole" there's so much on here. Killed borers on pepo this am. They suck. I did get 40# of summer squash, and now what to do with it...
