We are excited to be launching our Permaculture Apprenticeship program in the spring of 2020!

The program runs from May 3rd, 2020 to October 4th, 2020 and will be a full season practical immersion in Permaculture design, wilderness homesteading, regenerative agriculture and intentional community living.

Spend 5 months learning how to use Permaculture to design regenerative human communities, homestead in the wilderness, grow food in ways that supports the health of the ecosystem, and live in an intentional community of like-minded people.

Over the program we will cover the full curriculum of the Permaculture Design Course (PDC), and successful graduates will receive a Permaculture Design Certificate issued through the Permaculture Institute.

This is an internationally recognized foundational course for anyone wanting to incorporate Permaculture design into their life and work.

Permaculture is a design framework for integrating humanity and the biosphere, so that our needs are met in ways that regenerate the health and stability of the surrounding ecosystem.

Based on observation and emulation of natural patterns and ecological systems, Permaculture design integrates the physical, temporal and social elements of life (such as weather, water, plants, animals, structures, energy, soil and community) into a synergistic assembly of human life within the surrounding ecosystem.

Step by step we will explore the theory and practice of the Permaculture design process, including: holistic goal setting, observation & pattern language, site & resource assessment, keyline, zone & sector analysis, functional interconnection, implementation, maintenance & evaluation, so that by the end of the program you will have the skills and understanding to apply Permaculture design to any context, site and climate on the planet.

The rest of the program will focus on the theory and practices of wilderness homesteading, regenerative agriculture and intentional community living.

As we combine the lessons and experiences from our development thus far, with the design and implementation of this season’s projects, you will learn how to plan the overall evolution of a project, implement specific projects, manage day to day operations and maintenance, and build the technical and relational skills to put all of these pieces together.

Some of the topics we will cover include: key tools and skills for homesteading, setting up the basic systems for living in nature, practices of regenerative agriculture, crop selection for a self-sufficient diet, eco-forestry theory and practice, non-violent communication, and Buddhist philosophy.
