When I noticed that birds were taking out my elderberries there was but one answer. Fake snakes! They’ve been protecting my blueberries for years. Not only is it effective but somewhat amusing to watch. With blueberries it works just to lay the snake on the limbs. Elderberries are more difficult. I think this way is more fun because it blows in the wind and gives a more dramatic effect! Y’all have fun watching birds split at record pace!!!

I did and have done it in the past. Elderberry is a different tree. Every part of it is fragile. Too much wind and and branches start to break.

The birds moved from elderberries to the pears. I felt that my scarecrow should resemble me. Hat, mask, and craft brew should put them on notice! The eyeliner, not so much.
