We are the growers at Goat Plum Tree Farm in Berlin, MD.

Join us at the 500 + acre space of Mariner's Country Down.

Learn how to build your own pizza oven with a community.

Learn about different natural building methods, and their history.

Learn the finer points of cob construction.

Gain skills and knowledge needed to start building your own cob home!

Participate in hands-on inquiry, figuring out what makes the best cob mix.

Learn about the phyics and practicality of cob ovens.

The knowledge taken from this course will allow you to confidently build your own oven.

About us: Matthew took a cob course in Oregon last summer. Anmei grew up in a cob house in China. We run a small farm in Berlin, MD. We market our produce each sunday May-September at the Berlin Farmers Market- specializing in lettuce/greens, root vegetables, fruits, herbs, wild foraging fungi and wild fruits like paw paws, indoor and outdoor mushroom cultivation!

When: October 17th and 24th, 2020

Time: 9 am – 6 pm (class could run a bit shorter, but will not run longer)

Where: Berlin, MD

Rain date: October 31st 9 am – 6 pm

Bring your own lunch.

Pizza will be served at the end of the second day, safe measures will be exercised.

Cost: $100 for adults (18 and over)
There are 14 adult slots. Includes the book “Build Your Own Earth Oven: Low-Cost Wood-Fired Mud Oven, Simple Sourdough Bread, Perfect Loaves” By Kiko Denzer- a $20 value.

Adults may sign up with a frield a recieve 20% off!

Teens 13-17: $50  

Children 6-12: $30

There are 6 spots for those 6-17.
One child/teen only per parent or guardian, please.

If you have a large group of kids, such as a class, that wants to participate. Reach out to us and we will customize an oven class for your needs.

Want an oven in your backyard??
If you would like to host a class at your home, have all of your friends come over, learn how to build one, AND build it for you- reach out to us!

You are entitled to pay a 50% deposit before September 27th by which time we require that you pay the remaining amount.

OR pay the full amount upon booking and lock in your spot!

After September 27th, deposits are non-refundable. After 9/27? See our absentee policy if you can’t make the workshops…


Tickets are refundable up until the last market day, and only on market days at Berlin Farmers Market, on Sundays, through September 27th.

If you get sick, or can’t attend classes, we will give you a credit for the next one or we can send class video recordings, the syllabus, and Power Point to you.

In the body of the post it says the dates are Oct 17 and 24, those are incorrect. The correct dates are the 16-18. Thank you
